THIS MATTER comes before the Iowa Public Information Board (IPIB) this 17th day of March, 2022, to consider the Motion to Consolidate.
On January 31, 2022, Ernie Abell filed formal complaint 22FC:0004, alleging that the Arispe City Council (Council) violated Iowa Code chapter 22.
Mr. Abell earlier filed formal complaint 21FC:0119 on December 14, 2021, alleging that the Council had violated Iowa Code chapter 21. That complaint was accepted by the IPIB on February 17, 2021. IPIB staff are assisting the Council with the informal resolution for that complaint. The informal resolution can include the public records concerns of this complaint.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that this complaint is consolidated with 21FC:0119. IPIB staff will include the public records issues in the informal resolution process currently underway.

COMES NOW, Margaret E. Johnson, Executive Director for the Iowa Public Information Board (IPIB), and respectfully submits this Motion to Consolidate:
On January 31, 2022, Ernie Abell filed formal complaint 22FC:0004, alleging that the Arispe City Council (Council) violated Iowa Code chapter 22.
Mr. Abell earlier filed formal complaint 21FC:0119 on December 14, 2021, alleging that the Council had violated Iowa Code chapter 21. That complaint was accepted by the IPIB on February 17, 2021. IPIB staff are assisting the Council with the informal resolution for that complaint. The informal resolution can include the public records concerns of this complaint.
It is recommended that the IPIB grant this Motion to Consolidate to allow the pending informal resolution address Iowa Code chapter 22 concerns as well.
