This matter comes before the Iowa Public Information Board (IPIB) this 21st day of October, 2021, to review compliance with the terms of an Informal Resolution.
The IPIB accepted the complaint against the Linden City Council on May 20, 2021. Pursuant to Iowa Code section 23.9, the parties negotiated and reached a proposed Informal Resolution. The Informal Resolution was approved by the IPIB on May 20, 2021.
The terms of the Informal Resolution have been successfully completed. The IPIB agreed to dismiss this complaint upon successful completion of the terms.
Pursuant to the terms of the Informal Resolution, this complaint is dismissed as successfully resolved.

Comes now Margaret E. Johnson, Executive Director for the Iowa Public Information Board (IPIB) and requests that the IPIB dismiss this complaint as successfully completed and as grounds therefore state the following:
The IPIB approved an informal resolution between the parties on May 20, 2021. Pursuant to the terms of the informal resolution, the parties had 60 days to complete the resolution, or until July 19, 2021.
One of the terms of the resolution was for the city clerk to attend approved clerk training that incorporates open meetings and public records laws. This training was scheduled for October 6 to 8, 2021, through the 2021 Municipal Professionals Institute (MPI). As a result, the IPIB extended the period of completion to October 11, 2021.
As of this date, all terms have been successfully completed. Pursuant to the terms of the informal resolution, the IPIB agreed to dismiss the complaint upon successful completion.
Therefore,this complaint should be dismissed as successfully completed.
