January 19, 2023
The IPIB Executive Director Search Committee met electronically at 12:00PM, on Thursday January 19, 2023, in the IPIB Office Conference Room. In attendance by phone were Board Committee members Julie Pottorff, E.J. Giovannetti, and Barry Lindahl. Staff in attendance Margaret Johnson, Brett Toresdahl, and Daniel Strawhun. Also attending Susan Patterson-Plank.
The agenda was approved unanimously by voice vote.
The minutes were approved unanimously by voice vote.
There were no public comments shared.
The position was posted shortly after December 15, 2022 with an application deadline of January 31, 2023.

The Committee began to discuss the next steps in the search process.
Interviews: It was generally discussed by the committee that it would be ideal to have 3 or 4 candidates to interview in open session at the next Board meeting. This will depend upon the number of applicants and the qualities of the applications.
Candidates will be invited to interview before the entire board and will be notified that it will take place during an open session. Candidate will be asked if they agree to the Board deliberating in closed session when it comes time to discuss all candidates in preparation for the Board making their selection.
Time of Board Meeting: The Committee decided to start the February 16, 2023 Board Meeting at 11:00AM. General business will be at the beginning of the agenda with a goal to have it concluded by around 12:30pm. The Board will then recess for a break and lunch. The Board will reconvene at approximately 1:00pm at which point the interviews will be scheduled. It is anticipated that interviews will be limited to one hour. Following the interviews, the Board will deliberate in closed session. The Board will resume open session and select one of the candidates.
Next Meeting: This Committee will meet on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:00am to review all the applications and decide who to invite for interviews.
Interview questions: Margaret and Brett have drafted some proposed questions for Board members to use during the interviews. These will be distributed to the committee for review.
