Jerry Taylor / Chariton Water Board - Informal Resolution and Order
Opinion:
Before the Iowa Public Information Board
On December 15, 2016, the Iowa Public Information Board (IPIB) approved an informal resolution between Jerry Taylor and the Chariton Water Board (Board). The terms of the informal resolution are:
1. The Board acknowledges that better measures should have been taken to notify the public that the closed session had ended and agrees to do so in the future.
2. The Board attorney will provide training to the Board members on Iowa Open Meeting Laws. The IPIB will forward copies of the Open Meetings, Open Records Handbook for the Board's use.
3. When this informal resolution is formally adopted by the Board, this document shall be included in the minutes of that meeting.
Compliance was scheduled to be completed no later than December 31, 2016. On December 22, 2016, counsel for the Board reported that the terms were completed.
Therefore, pursuant to the terms of the Informal Resolution, this case should be dismissed.
