This matter comes before the Iowa Public Information Board (IPIB) this 15th day of December, 2016, to consider the Settlement Agreement agreed upon by the Prosecutor for the Iowa Public Information Board (IPIB) and by counsel for the Des Moines County Attorney.
Upon review of the Settlement Agreement, the IPIB finds that the proposed Settlement Agreement is appropriate and will resolve the issues in these three cases as to the Des Moines County Attorney.
The IPIB further finds that the proposed settlement agreement resolves the cases as to the Des Moines County Attorney only. The cases remain open as to Respondents Burlington Police Department and Department of Criminal Investigation.
Therefore, the IPIB approves the Settlement Agreement as to Respondent Des Moines County Attorney and orders a fine of $200.00, payable to Des Moines County.
Upon receipt of proof of payment, the IPIB orders that said complaints against the Des Moines County Attorney shall be deemed closed, and the Des Moines County Attorney shall be dismissed from further involvement in said cases.
